Most rocking chairs are made with fine woods, and
last for centuries. Rocking chairs are common family heirlooms. Rocking
chairs have become very common. Antique rocking chairs early 1800's
saw the introduction of rocking chairs that didn't have arms. Very

Around the 1840's, rocking chairs began being
made with machines with by hand. The Salem rocking chair was introduced
at this time, Wicker rocking chairs were introduced in the 1860's.
They were cheaper than wooden rocking chairs, but they weren't nearly
as durable
Many varieties of rocking chair through the years, and they are still well loved by people of all ages. Some manufacturers specialize in making custom, handmade rocking chairs that made of hand.
A little history, the rocking chair is said to have been
invented by Benjamin Franklin. This allowed chair makers to convert
ordinary rocking chairs with minimal cost.
When it comes to antique furniture there are many different periods and styles. Many of the antique chair
styles that I have purchased have had tapestry fabric for the seating
area. As I mentioned there are many different styles of antique
furniture and antique chair styles are no exception.
Wood carvings have always fascinated me and antiques
usually have some wonderful, original hand carved designs. Everyone from

a rocking chair.
